Report Crime
A resource for young people
Introduction
This booklet has been written to help young people and other readers in South Australia to understand the picture of crime and young people in this state, look at why and how crime affects young people and how to report a crime.
How can this resource help young people?
In order to help reduce the incidence of young people being victims of crime this resource can help young people to:
- Look at crime and young people in South Australia
- Think about how to keep safe
- Look at reporting crime
- Learn about support services for young people
- Learn their rights as a victim of crime
Young people as victims of crime
Young people know about the problems of crime in their area. They are generally very good at dealing with many difficult situations on a regular basis. They are also careful about the way they move around in order to stay out of trouble. But unfortunately, even though South Australia is a safe place to live, sometimes a crime happens to a young person.
