Youth impact resources
Valuable resources for engaging young people, based on the insights and experiences of young people.
The Youth Affairs Council of South Australia (YACSA) are pleased to release a summary resource capturing key insights and priorities from the 2025 Youth Impact Summit earlier this year.
As part of the summit, YACSA facilitated a consultation session to capture young people’s ideas on how to drive real change in their local communities and increase engagement in youth groups, such as Council run youth advisory committees.
Young people’s message to decision-makers is clear: they are active members of their communities already driving change, but are eager to do more – not someday, but right now.
These resources summarise their experiences, bold ideas, and practical priorities, offering valuable guidance for engaging with young people.
Councils, governments, and community organisations are encouraged to use these insights as they plan and deliver programs, policies, and services to better support and engage young people.

INAUGURAL YOUTH IMPACT SUMMIT PARTICIPANT
The inaugural Youth Impact Summit was hosted by the Commissioner for Children and Young People SA in partnership with the Youth Affairs Council of South Australia on Saturday 5 April 2025 at the University of Adelaide, bringing together more than 200 young people, local government representatives, and community stakeholders from across South Australia.
The Summit, co-designed and co-delivered by young people, for young people, provides a platform for young people to share their ideas on how to create stronger, more inclusive, and connected communities, which have been used to inform these resources.
Attendees participated in a full day of activities, panels, presentations and performances showcasing what is possible when young people are allowed the tools, trust and space to lead and contribute.
