general board directors

General Board Directors share collective responsibility for the strategic direction, governance and financial oversight of YACSA.

We are particularly looking for experience in:

  • Governance, including as a Board or committee member

  • Finance, accounting or audit

  • Law

  • Senior leadership in the youth or broader social services sector.

We also welcome strategy, policy advocacy and research experience, lived experience of the issues young people face, and perspectives that are often missing from decision-making, including Aboriginal community knowledge, regional South Australian perspectives, disability inclusion, mental health systems knowledge and LGBTQIA+ inclusion experience.

young board director

Young Board Directors are full Directors, with the same responsibilities, duties and voting rights as every other Director. You don’t need previous Board experience. We are looking for lived experience of the issues young people face, confidence to contribute and challenge ideas, and a willingness to learn.
