2017-18 State Budget Snapshot

The 2017 South Australian State Budget demonstrates a focus on tax cuts, grant incentives and infrastructure projects designed to invigorate and grow the economy. However, with a record high youth unemployment rate and other structural and systemic barriers affecting young people in South Australia (particularly those living in regional and remote areas), we are disappointed to note a lack of policies and strategies specifically targeting disparities in housing, health, transport and income experienced by young people.
